This fictional project is inspired by the time capsule, particularly the “Crypt of Civilization” created in the United States in 1940. The goal is to preserve, on Level -3 of the MAD, a selection of objects and furniture in the event of a disaster or attack.
This selection traces different eras of design through their uses, forms, and creators. The goal is not merely to celebrate the most iconic pieces, but to offer a critical perspective on each period, highlighting both its advances and its limitations.
Level -3 thus becomes a time capsule on a human scale, sealed for a century before reopening as a museum annex dedicated to the evolution of design.
At the object level, I also reinterpret the traditional aesthetics of the capsule through the use of curves and transparency.
