At Renée-Sabran Hospital, “Fragments of Life” bridges the gap between medical care and the landscape. This project employs a comprehensive reconnection strategy inspired by the symbiosis of the mycorrhizal network. The site becomes a sensory journey where nature acts as a therapeutic complement (shinrin-yoku, aromatherapy), connecting the pine forest to the sea. Here, the mosaic serves as a metaphor for the patient: assembling fragments to reconstitute a whole. Through a play on scales and a color palette drawn from the site itself, this mosaic motif extends from the furniture to the space itself, eliminating the notion of a threshold to bring the garden indoors. At the heart of Building H, a mosaic café invites patients to take an active role in their own recovery.
