I aim to create a warm and inspiring place for the residents of a social housing neighbourhood, home to many refugees, displaced people, and families in need of affordable housing. My objective is to understand and respond to the specific needs of those who live in the area.
The project proposes a library as a welcoming and comforting space for those who need it. Residents of social housing neighbourhoods often come as families. Surrounded by grey, uniform buildings, the library could become a magical retreat: a place for musical evenings, creative activities, children’s development, and the expression of individual talents.
It could become a home away from home, where people can read books in their native language and connect with others going through similar life experiences.
