Le Trabendo deconstructed: a new topography

This project for the renovation of Le Trabendo transposes the principle of a programmatic deconstruction of the park onto the scale of the concert venue’s interior space. The approach follows the design principles used for the park, as well as exploring the topological manipulations developed by Peter Eisenman. Analysis of certain statistical data on the current space resulted in information that could be used on an architectural level and allowed for a new topography to be designed, a new “unifying ground” for the entire programme. The interior design takes the external architecture into account and offers a sense of continuity; the folly’s pillars seem to move across the floor into the interior space where, through fragmentation, they become blocks to accommodate the different services.
