Conceived as a Parisian outpost of the Maeght Foundation, the renovation of the Arte printing plant creates a hybrid space where exceptional artisanal production and exhibitions for a new audience come together.
Our project proposes an architecture of contemplation. Drawing on the industrial heritage of this former glue factory, the design unfolds a building-wide scenography centered around a monumental, double-height exhibition wall bathed in natural overhead light.
The space guides the visitor’s gaze, offering shifting perspectives—from the intimacy of the artwork to its overall view from the mezzanine. Behind a translucent wall, the artists’ movements at work can be glimpsed, creating an unprecedented closeness between the secrets of the studio and the revelation of the finished work.
