“Breathing Between Sky and Sea” was born out of a personal experience with the hospital environment. The waiting, the silence, the overly bright light, and the feeling of confinement create a negative emotional state that is not conducive to the patient’s recovery.
My intention was not merely to redesign a space, but to transform that emotion into a soothing experience. Inspired by the architecture of old sanatoriums—designed around air, light, and the landscape as elements of care—I sought to rediscover this essential relationship between space and well-being.
At Renée Sabran Hospital, Building H enjoys an exceptional setting amidst the sea, light, and vegetation.
