This project transforms the dojo at Renée Sabran Hospital into a place of escape that promotes healing. It becomes a therapeutic tool where play enhances physical and mental well-being.
The program is organized around a board game room and a library, creating a space for sharing. Taking advantage of the site’s coastal location, the architecture invites a reconnection with the sea. Through forms and a color palette that evoke images of the beach and vacations, the space becomes joyful and stimulating.
Designed as a gathering place, the project uses “hide-and-reveal” elements to shape the relationship between patients and the landscape. It is a space where reading also becomes a complementary form of care—a haven of serenity essential to the healing process.
