“The Sound Crossing” takes place in the dojo at Renée-Sabran Hospital, located between the sea and the forest. It explores an expanded form of therapy in which care goes beyond the medical to incorporate relationships, the landscape, and a slower pace. Sound therapy serves as the project’s central theme: it induces an immersive state that promotes relaxation, balance, and well-being.
Inspired by church architecture and its sequential layout, the project creates a progressive spatial journey. The patient moves from a space of interaction and sharing toward an increasingly introspective space, ultimately reaching a state of contemplation.
This slow walk accompanies an inner transformation, reinforced by the materials, light, and soundscapes.
