At 13 Rue Daguerre, the project reimagines the Arte printing house by organizing its workspaces into interconnected levels. These levels function as architectural strata that reveal traces of the past and the building’s industrial heritage. At the heart of the space, the central staircase vertically connects these strata amid a skylight and embodies the common thread of the creative process.
To stimulate creative energy, artist-in-residence studios are integrated into the program. Their proximity to and connection with the printing house create a unique space for exchange where traditional craftsmanship engages with contemporary creation.
A museum dedicated to the history and techniques of the site rounds out the experience.
