Set in a remarkable Mediterranean landscape, the Renée-Sabran Hospital offers vast outdoor spaces, though their facilities and accessibility remain limited for some patients. The project takes the hospital’s existing refreshment stand as its starting point, relocating it to the seaside and transforming it into a true gathering place for rest and socializing. As part of this intervention, the project also reimagines the outdoor pathways and amenities to allow for smoother access to the sea. The goal is to conceive and create spaces where the hospital setting and its physical care are set aside to promote mental well-being. The intervention thus seeks to blend discreetly into the topography and vegetation in order to preserve the site’s landscape identity without altering it.
