At 13 Rue Daguerre, in Paris’s 14th arrondissement, lies ARTE, a lithography and engraving print shop founded by Aimée Maeght, which is still run by her family today. This project aims to shed light on this discreet hub of artistic production by reconnecting it to its history with the Maeght Foundation: the building continues to serve as a workshop for artisan printers while also hosting artist residencies, studios for classes, archive spaces, and venues for exchange. It also seeks to reconnect with the life of the neighborhood by bringing together different generations: the expertise of the artisan printers meets the practices of contemporary artists in residence, who in turn share their work through workshops and classes designed for local schools and children.
