Les Bonnes Joies is a creative residency for the performing arts, supporting artists from the earliest stages of writing, through rehearsals, to the moment their work is shared with an audience. The space unfolds through a form of spatial staging, where light and movement respond to one another, and darkness and intimacy enter into dialogue. This architectural choreography emerges from the observation of live performance.
An old farmhouse in the Vexin, an hour and a half from Paris, becomes both a place to live and the setting for this transformation. Writing finds refuge in half-light, a cradle for introspection. Collective work unfolds where natural light accompanies the emergence of movement and gesture.
