The dissertation explores the relationship between the narrative and space, with particular attention paid to architectural space. These two complementary concepts are based on similar logic and can reinforce each other. The aim is to understand what mechanisms come into play in building a space from a narrative and vice versa.
Research raises vital questions: is it possible to create a meaningful project without telling a story? Does the narrative anticipate the construction of the space, or is it involved in its implementation? To address this, a set of literary texts and architectural projects from various eras and registers are analysed, in order to identify similarities and design processes.
