Forgotten portrait of Ukrainian traditional rural house

In Ukrainian tradition, the term khata lovingly refers to a house, while mazanka evokes the image of a dwelling crafted from wood, adorned with a layer of clay and crowned with a rustic thatch of straw. It is an architectural monument of ordinary people, an example of how Ukrainians saw beauty and what values they invested in their home.
