Domesticity Reinvented aims to give a new meaning to the notion of domesticity, through mobility, transparency, freedom of movement (as opposed to the domestic mise en scène) and the resignification of bodies through bathing, which plays a central role as a setting where power and the gaze can be subverted. The fluid, open and theatrical character of the space is inspired by Pina Bausch and contemporary dance, in which the body is freed from the conventions and hierarchies of society. The home then becomes a place that challenges prevailing ideas about female immobility and the private space, but it also aims to question the notion of residing itself, in a world where boundaries are dissolving and fading.
