Resonance, located in Favières en Brie in Seine-et-Marne, is a three-month artist’s residence that invites musicians to work on the different sound materials of a region using the field recording technique. The aim is to record the urban sounds that overlap with those of nature, transform them and then integrate them into ambient-style musical compositions. As Jean-Yves Leloup says, ambient is “serene music for troubled times”. This style of music, accessible to all, encourages meditation.
The site is equipped with structures to host a three-day festival, where residents, accompanied by guests artists, present their compositions, the aesthetics of which resonate with the installations.
