This dissertation focuses on the acceleration of our modern world. Studying the philosopher Hartmut Rosa provides an understanding of the technical factors, social changes and life paces that have led to the constant acceleration in our contemporary society. In a world where everything is moving faster and faster, every minute seems doubly important – how does our modernity affect our constructions and the ways we inhabit a space? Faced with this acceleration, there is a need to slow the pace: various movements have become established in order to return to authentic values and resist the hectic modern world.
