In this dissertation, I explore the notion of bereavement in the form of a letter addressed to my brother. I contribute to research in order to better understand how design and architecture influence our emotions and well-being. I share my thoughts and experiences with him, while exploring the new knowledge I have gained on the subject. This dissertation is dedicated to my big brother Mathieu, who died in an accident at the age of 3. As a baby at the time, I was unable to grieve, and it has had a profound impact on my life. My psychologist suggested that I write a letter in order to liberate myself. Today I have found the courage to do so. It is a way to pay tribute to him.
