This dissertation stems from a fascination for the other side of things, for this secret and underground language that hides under the surface of finished objects. Why photography? Because it is this situation of complete tension where you physically stand in front of someone, searching for the truth.

But what do we actually see behind the lens? Beyond simply capturing a face, this reflection questions the ethical responsibility our eyes have. Are we meeting the other person, or are we projecting our own expectations and cultural heritage on them? Between the raw clarity of Diane Arbus, the disappearances of Francesca Woodman and the survival urgency of Nan Goldin, these pages explore this fragile gap between image and life.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n
