This dissertation looks at how equipment design shapes the hiking experience, acting as the determining interface between the moving body and the landscape.

The study first establishes a technical genealogy of these objects, evolving from military heritage to lighter and more ergonomic solutions. It then explores the sensory and psychological reality of effort, where the body becomes a medium of perception. Finally, a critical reflection questions the ambiguity of the technical object: if it emancipates the hiker, it also risks anaesthetising what they feel and making their practice standard.

The conclusion calls for \u201cfair\u201d design: equipment that can be repaired and understood, which supports autonomy without erasing the vulnerability needed for a perceptible connection to nature.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n
