In Morzine, the lower station of the Prodains cable car has stood abandoned since 2013, replaced by a more efficient infrastructure. A remnant of a model built around snow, it embodies the dead end faced by a territory confronted with the climate emergency.
The project rejects the tabula rasa approach. It rehabilitates the building by drawing on its distinctive verticality: descents and ascents, plays of light and framed views of the landscape shape a journey that engages the body, invites visitors to slow down, and reveals the site from a new perspective.
The programme introduces a participatory research centre dedicated to Alpine biodiversity and the ecological transition, bringing together laboratories, educational spaces, and workshops with local residents.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

LE CAF\u00c9 constitue un premier temps du parcours. Int\u00e9gr\u00e9 \u00e0 une promenade v\u00e9g\u00e9talis\u00e9e, il accompagne l\u2019arriv\u00e9e et cr\u00e9e une transition entre paysage et architecture. Ouvert toute l\u2019ann\u00e9e, il r\u00e9unit habitants, chercheurs et visiteurs, tout en proposant une premi\u00e8re d\u00e9couverte du territoire gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des cartes et archives.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

L\u2019EXPOSITION se d\u00e9ploie dans la verticalit\u00e9 du b\u00e2timent comme un parcours sensoriel. Le visiteur descend d\u2019abord dans l\u2019obscurit\u00e9, puis remonte progressivement vers la lumi\u00e8re naturelle. Chaque niveau r\u00e9v\u00e8le une nouvelle lecture du territoire, o\u00f9 lumi\u00e8re, mati\u00e8re et hauteur transforment progressivement la perception en compr\u00e9hension.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

LE CENTRE DE RECHERCHE r\u00e9unit chercheurs et habitants autour de l\u2019\u00e9tude du territoire alpin. Son organisation repose sur un syst\u00e8me vertical o\u00f9 circulations et programmes se d\u00e9ploient dans une double peau p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique. Cette disposition maintient un lien constant avec le paysage tout en s\u00e9parant les flux.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n
