How can equestrian architecture be reimagined to create spaces that are attentive to the needs of ponies, while also redefining relationships between humans and animals?
This project takes place at the Poney Club of the Haras de Jardy, an equestrian centre open to the public and located west of Paris. It questions stable models inherited from domestication and explores how architecture can move beyond principles of confinement to transform relationships between humans and animals.
The spaces are designed from both the pony\u2019s and the human\u2019s perceptions, through careful framing and relationships with the surrounding landscape.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

La caf\u00e9t\u00e9ria <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

La caf\u00e9t\u00e9ria est pens\u00e9e comme un lieu de transition entre le monde humain et le monde \u00e9quin. Elle se divise en trois : un espace de restauration r\u00e9serv\u00e9 aux visiteurs, une terrasse ouverte sur le parcours \u00e9quin pour observer les poneys, puis un espace partag\u00e9 favorisant la rencontre entre l’homme et l’animal.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Le cocon <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

Attenant \u00e0 la caf\u00e9t\u00e9ria et implant\u00e9 au c\u0153ur du parcours \u00e9quin, le cocon offre un espace de pause au plus pr\u00e8s des poneys. Cette bulle permet d’observer, de partager un moment privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 avec l’animal et de vivre une immersion sans rompre avec son environnement.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Les box<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

Pens\u00e9s pour favoriser une sociabilit\u00e9 ma\u00eetris\u00e9e, les box sont modulables gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des portes coulissantes, laissant \u00e0 l’homme le contr\u00f4le des regroupements. Des portes motoris\u00e9es permettent aux poneys d’acc\u00e9der librement au parcours \u00e9quin. \u00c0 leur retour, ils choisissent le box qu’ils souhaitent occuper.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n
