This project is rooted in the history of the Camargue, celebrating the encounter between two cultures, Camargue and Roma, which were long seen as opposed. Today, shaped by the legacy of Folco de Baroncelli\u2019s commitment, Roma culture has become an integral part of the cultural landscape of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
Set within the town\u2019s public square, the project takes the form of an ephemeral sculpture conceived as a space for gathering and exchange. Its design draws on equestrian and Camargue traditions through circular forms and references to the arena, while embracing a nomadic spirit through a lightweight, demountable structure made from flexible, tensioned materials.
The installation creates a living space for cultural encounters and collective celebration.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

Au-del\u00e0 de l’espace de spectacle, le projet\npropose diff\u00e9rents am\u00e9nagements destin\u00e9s \u00e0\nprolonger les moments de partage.\nDes mange-debout et des espaces de\nrestauration assis, compos\u00e9s de tables et de\nchaises inspir\u00e9es du mobilier traditionnel des\ncaf\u00e9s flamencos, permettent aux visiteurs de\nse retrouver tout au long de la journ\u00e9e.\nDes \u00e9curies d’appoint ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9\nint\u00e9gr\u00e9es au dispositif afin d’accueillir\ntemporairement les chevaux dans des\nconditions adapt\u00e9es.\nComme les autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments du projet, elles\nont \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ues selon un principe\nd’embo\u00eetement facilitant leur montage, leur\nd\u00e9montage et leur transport.\nDes syst\u00e8mes d’ombrage ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9\npr\u00e9vus afin d’assurer le confort des usagers et\nle bien-\u00eatre des animaux.Enfin, les espaces de restauration prennent\nplace dans d’anciennes caravanes gitanes\nr\u00e9interpr\u00e9t\u00e9s et transform\u00e9es en bars.\nCes \u00e9l\u00e9ments participent \u00e0 l’identit\u00e9 du projet\ntout en renfor\u00e7ant son caract\u00e8re festif et\npopulaire.\n<\/figcaption>\n <\/article>\n\n\n

Mon projet cherche alors \u00e0 prolonger cette\ndynamique festive en cr\u00e9ant un v\u00e9ritable lieu\nde rassemblement, actif tout au long de la\njourn\u00e9e et de la soir\u00e9e.\nCet espace deviendrait un support d’\u00e9changes,\nde transmission et de partage.\nAfin de concevoir cette installation, je me suis\ninspir\u00e9e de l’univers des ferias et des ar\u00e8nes :\nleurs formes circulaires favorisant le\nrassemblement, leurs jeux de lumi\u00e8re, leurs\ntissus color\u00e9s, leur ambiance populaire et\nconviviale.\nL’objectif \u00e9tait de cr\u00e9er un lieu immersif,\nvivant et accessible \u00e0 tous.\nJ’ai \u00e9galement accord\u00e9 une grande\nimportance \u00e0 la dimension \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re du\nprojet.\nLes \u00e9l\u00e9ments ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pens\u00e9s pour \u00eatre\nd\u00e9montables, r\u00e9utilisables et peu invasifs afin\nque, une fois l’\u00e9v\u00e9nement termin\u00e9, la place\nretrouve son \u00e9tat initial sans \u00eatre d\u00e9natur\u00e9e.Le programme de mon projet s’articule\nautour d’un spectacle vivant qui aurait lieu\ndeux \u00e0 trois fois par jour durant la saison\nestivale.\nLe spectacle associe ainsi des d\u00e9monstrations\n\u00e9questres r\u00e9alis\u00e9es par les cavaliers\ncamarguais \u00e0 des repr\u00e9sentations de flamenco\nprenant place au centre de la piste.\nCette mise en sc\u00e8ne circulaire fait \u00e9cho aux\nspectacles \u00e9questres andalous, notamment\n\u00ab Espect\u00e1culo ecuestre flamenco \u00bb, o\u00f9\nchevaux et danse dialoguent dans une m\u00eame\nchor\u00e9graphie.\nElle s’inspire \u00e9galement de la \u00ab Doma\nvaquera \u00bb, une discipline \u00e9questre\ntraditionnelle andalouse issue du travail du\nb\u00e9tail, similaire au Camarguais dont certainsmouvements sont aujourd’hui repris dans des\nspectacles.\n<\/figcaption>\n <\/article>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"author":117,"featured_media":59483,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":"","_metafield_presentation":"This project is rooted in the history of the Camargue, celebrating the encounter between two cultures, Camargue and Roma, which were long seen as opposed.
