The project proposes to breathe new life into the Tournesol swimming pool, an iconic architectural structure, while preserving the heritage identity of its lightweight shell. Restored to its original form, the structure encloses a redesigned interior that provides greater thermal comfort through the principle of a thermal gradient. Inspired by echinoderms and radiolarians, the interior architecture develops a restrained yet immersive organic language. The spaces subtly evoke living forms without directly imitating them. Extending the pool\u2019s relationship with the surrounding landscape, the project introduces new outdoor spaces, including a refreshment area and solarium, transforming the site into a vibrant place for swimming, nature, and relaxation, while improving accessibility.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

Une France qui ne sait pas nager<\/em> …<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

\u00c0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1960, le constat est clair : les Fran\u00e7ais ne savent pas suffisamment nager. L\u2019\u00c9tat lance le programme des Mille Piscines. Laur\u00e9ate du concours, la piscine Tournesol se d\u00e9ploie \u00e0 plus de 180 exemplaires. Aujourd\u2019hui, il ne subsiste qu\u2019une cinquantaine, fragilis\u00e9s par leur vieillissement et leur performances thermiques.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Abandonn\u00e9e depuis 2014, la piscine Tournesol d\u2019Arques-la-Bataille constitue un patrimoine sportif et architectural menac\u00e9. Situ\u00e9e en Seine-Maritime, au c\u0153ur d\u2019un paysage entour\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9tangs, elle se distingue par sa remarquable charpente, encore en bon \u00e9tat, t\u00e9moignant de la qualit\u00e9 constructive de cet \u00e9difice embl\u00e9matique.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

Le projet am\u00e9liore les acc\u00e8s ext\u00e9rieurs gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une all\u00e9e pi\u00e9tonne couverte de dispositifs en bois toile textile, reprenant les codes de l\u2019architecture pr\u00e9fabriqu\u00e9e de Bernard Schoeller, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 une piste cyclable et un parc \u00e0 v\u00e9los connect\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019Avenue Verte.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n

LE GRAND BASSIN ET SES GRADINS<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n\n

Un grand bassin, accompagn\u00e9 de gradins, permet d\u2019accueillir des comp\u00e9titions locales au sein de cet \u00e9difice embl\u00e9matique. Les gradins sont mis \u00e0 profit pour cr\u00e9er un second niveau, valorisant la hauteur de la coupole. Ce choix rend hommage aux nombreux champions olympiques fran\u00e7ais qui ont appris \u00e0 nager dans ces piscines.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/article>\n
