Pererodjenia - Diploma Camondo

The project is located in the historic part of Odesa, in southern Ukraine. Despite the presence of formal institutions and educational facilities, the area lacks any infrastructure dedicated to the psychological well-being and inner world of children.

Healing means more than repairing walls — it means restoring the human spirit.

Based on interviews with Ukrainian children, as well as psychologists and trauma specialists, the following common psychological issues were identified among children affected by the ongoing events in Ukraine.

This project represents a targeted architectural intervention aimed at supporting the psychological recovery of children by directly responding to the traumas identified through research and interviews.

Renovation of greenhouse

The greenhouse is divided into themed zones with distinct atmospheres — a ceramic workshop rooted in Ukrainian craft and a botanical exploration space — both aimed at gently addressing the trauma of loss and loneliness through creation, care, and quiet connection.

Therapeutic garden

The garden is designed with sensory installations that engage children’s perceptive systems, specifically responding to the trauma of fear and hypercontrol through elements of softness, fluid movement, and nature-based interaction.

KHATA – housing complex for children and their parents

3 modern typologies of Ukrainian rural house – “Mazank”.

This part of the project addresses the trauma of separation, offering a welcoming space for rebuilding social bonds and fostering a sense of community.
