Synaesthesia comes to life at the heart of the video game machine network. This exhibition seeks to deconstruct preconceived ideas in order to explore the full riches of this universe.
Inspired by the aesthetics of the download page, a white box symbolises the starting point for the experience, like a space to reset. This box gradually breaks up, forming divisions, each dedicated to a facet of the video game. Synaesthesia is a phenomenon where the senses intertwine, such as perceiving colours while hearing sounds. We took inspiration from this concept in designing our project, using a network of lights and colours to guide the player. Connected by this network of light, interactive kiosks trace a route that highlights the connections between the different sound worlds of the video game.
