The origins of the third place Prouvènço ("Provence" in Provençal) are in heritage preservation movement. Designed using local materials such as terracotta, stone and wood, this space will embrace a new function without sacrificing its identity.
By studying the city, its characteristics and its inhabitants, we saw this project as a means of relocating several spaces in one location, becoming a new centre of activities that promotes and federates local expertise.
Students, professionals and the uninitiated will share the spaces, creating an ecosystem that brings together workshops, lecture theatres, a materials library, fab-lab and also a restaurant.
