Agora: The debate at the heart of the city

How does the transmission of local know-how highlight the issues between a territory and its inhabitants?
The Agora at the heart of people's daily lives.
The development of the wooded space above the ramparts of the Porte d'Italie will bring the neighbourhood to life, offering three hubs that connect inhabitants and a green thoroughfare in the city centre.
"Knowledge" is the place dedicated to the debate, reminiscent of the Bouleuterion of Ancient Greece.
"Process", the public workshop dedicated to education through production, recalling the Ergon.
"Retranscription" is an exhibition space in the temple. This sacred space traces the know-how on display during thes exchanges. It aims to leave its mark on the citizens, architects, artists and designers who visit the site.

“Le savoir” est le lieu dédié au débat, rappelant le Bouleutérion de la Grèce Antique. “Le Faire”, l’atelier public dédié à la transmission par la fabrication, rappelant l’Ergon. “La Retranscription” est un espace d’exposition dans le temple. Ce lieu sacré retrace le savoir-faire effectué lors de l’échange. Il a pour objectifs de laisser une marque auprès des citoyens, des architectes, artistes et designers présents sur le site.

L’analyse du site à révélé la connexion que représente la porte d’Italie entre les quartiers historiques de Toulon et les nouveaux quartiers autour de l’université.
