This dissertation is based on a desire to show that the home is a space for family and well-being that is in a constant battle with the notion of community living. It is personal to each of us, combining privacy and hospitality. How can we successfully marry these two opposing terms in such a fundamental space? To explain, episodes based on autobiographical fiction will recount scenes of daily life. They will take place today, in different places in Paris and its surrounding area, to show that there are several ways to combine our private life and the way we host according to where we live.
