Above all, this is a view of the Côtes d'Armor section of the Breton coastline. The purpose of this dissertation is to understand how the renovation of coastal heritage can form part of an approach to respecting existing buildings and adapting to current tourist and environmental pressures.
Through a narrative including extracts from my field journal, I testify, through detailed observation, to forms of architecture that enhance heritage, while ensuring harmony with the environment.
As I travelled through the resorts, my discussions with residents fuelled my research on the use of local materials and Breton know-how.
