Biomimicry is an engineering discipline that takes inspiration from processes in nature to offer more efficient design.
Starting from this definition, this dissertation explores how artificial intelligence is directly derived from human inspiration and evokes the various possibilities for its use in the creation of bio-designed objects.
2 innovative technologies combining biomimicry and AI are introduced:
- Virtual Darwinism: a design mode simulating an environment in which the object can evolve like a living being.
- Mechanical neural networks: intelligent structures capable of learning precise deformations.
But despite their fascinating appearance, these technological advances still have flaws, one of which is crucial: they follow an outdated lifestyle that has no future.
